Winter reading sign up has begun. Like years past teen and children are
doing bingo cards that encourages them to read different types of books.
This program goes through March 9. When they get a bingo they bring in
their completed card and they get a prize.
The 50/50 Book Quest is new this year. It is a year long reading challenge for adults
that goes all year. The challenge is to read 50 books in 50 weeks.
There are 50 different categories including things like; read a book by
an Idaho author, read a book with a ghost in it, and read a book with an
ugly cover. There is a reading log to track their progress/titles. This
ends December 31, 2018. Those who complete the challenge will get a
T-shirt.

New Year's Resolutions
I thought it would be fun to compare New Year's Resolutions to big books and it made a fun display.

Start your year with a BIG BOOK! |

Old sign on top was to hard to read so I swapped it for a new one. |

View from the side. I used a word cloud maker that lists common resolutions vs titles on the display |
Food for Fines
Each year we have a few weeks were patrons can pay off their library fines with canned food. Then we turn around and donated the food to our local food bank. This year was amazing. Here is a bulletin board where we tracked how much had been donated. Program started in November and into December 2017.
Each small can equaled 10 donated cans!
