Banned Books Week (part 2)

The book display has been up for the month, but now that it is officially banned books week I have added a little challenge to the display. Can you guess the book in the jar? This year I only did 3 books. See last year's contest here.
Fun contest that patrons can enter. Winner will win a library book bag.

Challenge was place right next to the book display.
First I took 3 books that are on the banned/challenged books lists and randomly copied 6-8 pages front and back. I then took these copies and cut them up. (individually so I could keep the books separate). I then gathered the pieces and stuffed them into a jar.  Can you name the books in the jars?

Banned Books Week

All graphics used this year came from the ALA website (link). I loved their "Words Have Power" theme. I added the "Break Free...READ" to make our display different from other libraries.
Only graphic I altered by adding a broken chain to symbolized breaking free. The fortune teller has several banned book stats and info is also from the ALA site.

We pulled several books from all over the library to place on display.

Kindness Like Confetti

Our city celebrates kindness week in September every year. This year the celebration takes place in Old Town right by the library. We have several things planned for the kick-off celebration but to get ready we have our bulletin board. I wanted to share suggestions with patrons of an act of service they could do.

Box of confetti has suggestions of different acts of service that anyone can do.
